THE PERSPECTIVE SHIFT
Parenting Rooted in Autonomy and Connection
Navigating the path of PDA parenting requires a fundamental shift—one built on empathy, autonomy, and lived experience. As a PDA adult and parent, Sandra Whitehead brings a unique perspective to coaching, focusing on connection-first, low-demand strategies that prioritize the safety of your child's nervous system. Together, we move toward a collaborative life that favors harmony over compliance, allowing your entire family to thrive in a home rooted in calm and mutual understanding.
About Me
Welcome! I’m Sandra Whitehead, a self-identified PDA adult raising PDA kids. For much of my life, I felt like I was "flying blind", unable to successfully navigate a world that wasn’t built for me. Gaining insight into PDA has helped me finally make sense of that.
Learning the “why” behind PDA behaviors brought so much clarity to both my own life and the way I parent. I have Level 1 training from PDA North America, along with deep lived experience navigating life as a PDA adult, parenting PDA children.
My goal is to support parents who want to better understand PDA and learn how to best support their PDA kids. I help families navigate the everyday challenges of PDA parenting—things like school intolerance, demand avoidance, and family stress—so they can move toward more connection and calm. My approach is rooted in empathy, validation, and practical, real-world strategies—so you don’t have to do this alone.
